A bold, but basic knife that will get the job done is what you’ll find in the Blackout knife from Kershaw and Ken Onion. You’ll really enjoy using this knife. It was designed to work well and last a long time without unnecessary weight. It’s a barely there 3.5 ounces in the hand and when its fully opened the knife is a decent size at about 7 inches.
The Blackout is solid black in color, making it an excellent knife to use under cover of darkness or just to keep on display in the home. It also comes with a removable stainless steel pocket clip. The blade on the knife is made of Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel and coated in tungsten DLC. The handle is polyimide for its durability and light weight.
For safety Kershaw had added the Locking Liner and the SpeedSafe patented assisted opening system. The Locking Liner will securely hold your knife blade in place after opening, while the SpeedSafe system will allow the user to open the blade with a simple press on the thumb stud.
Locking Liner Locks the blade into position after the blade is deployed. To release the locking liner simply press the spring loaded lock and the blade will easily fold back into the handle.
