Go back to basics with this Kershaw Chive plain edged blade knife. It’s one of the ever popular series of Chive knives and you’ll love to use it for any purpose you can think up! All of the Chives are quite popular, but this one in particular features a simple 410 stainless steel handle. You’ll love the industrial design and quality of this Chive.

Its blade is made from 420HC stainless steel so you’ll enjoy a knife that is durable, resists rust and keeps its edge for a long time. Plus it is super light at only 1.9 ounces. You’ll keep checking your pocket clip because you’ll think the knife fell out of your pocket!

The chive also offers an easy ambidextrous opening system that allows users to open the knife one handed. It’s great for righties and lefties!

You’ll also enjoy the two safety features that make the new line of Kershaws very safe and convenient. The frame lock holds the blade into position after being fully opened. It’s easy to release with the press of a button. The Tip Safety Lock locks the blade into place after being folded down.

Frame Lock
Locks the blade into position after the blade is deployed. To release the frame lock simply press the spring loaded lock and the blade will easily fold back into the handle.

Tip Safety Lock
The tip lock available on many of the Ken Onion SpeedSafe models provides added security to assure that the blade will not deploy while clipped into your pocket.

SpeedSafe® is the patented, assisted opening mechanism pioneered by Kershaw that makes it fast and easy to open a knife one-handed. SpeedSafe also makes it possible for Kershaw to ensure that even a large blade can move out of the handle just as smoothly and easily as a smaller one. Plus, many of their assisted folders are ambidextrous—and open with a flipper or a thumbstud on both sides of the blade—so they’re just as easy to use left-handed or right. To open a SpeedSafe knife, the user must apply manual pressure to overcome the resistance of the torsion bar. This means that SpeedSafe knives do not meet the definition of a switchblade; they do not deploy with the push of a button or by gravity alone. Once open, the blade locks safely into position until the user releases it.

I've owned this knife for about 10 years and still use it. It's always in my pocket. I've never had a problem with it and only sharpened it once. It still looks as good as it did the day I bought it. I've mastered the trick of unlock/open/close/relock with one hand that was shown to me by the girl that sold it to me at a store in the mall. Glad to see Kershaw online and close to my home as well...Awesome! Just bought the Rainbow Chive yesterday and can't wait to receive it! Same knife with cool colors and I'm confident that the same quality will be there. Can't recommend these handy little knives enough!

<P align=justify>I purchased the knife 18 months ago. I really like the finish on the knife. The blade assist is a great feature. I recently starting having problems with the blade not opening all the way. I took the knife apart and found the torsion bar was broke. Hopefully the torsion bar can be replaced. Otherwise this is a great product.</P>

I collect knives, and this is one of the best I ever had. I loved the way it opened fast, and it had a great solid lock. The blade was the perfect shape, and grade of metal. Fits in the hand with a perfect grip. Best of all, made right here in the U.S.A. That means your money stays right here where it needs to be. This ain't no Wal-Mart, made in China knife. I am proud to know that U.S.A can still produce some great quality. Anyway, I had this knife for about two years, lost it, and getting another.
