Leek Composite Plain Edge

You haven’t seen it all, until you’ve seen this beauty of a knife from Kershaw and Ken Onion. The newest Leek is the Composite Leek with a blade that fuses two kinds of metals into one strong and long lasting blade. Made in America, but destined for the whole world, the Composite Leek is the blade to behold.

Its patent pending composite blade contains a spine of 14C28N stainless steel fused with the cutting power of CPM-D2 stainless steel. Never before has a blade of this magnitude existed. Made with all stainless steel construction, even the handle of the Composite Leek is made from 410 stainless steel.

The knife also features the convenience of the patented SpeedSafe assisted index finger opener. It’s ambidextrous and can be used by righties and lefties, for quick to open ease when needed. A removable pocket clip means you’ll be able to keep the blade conveniently at hand wherever you go. The tip safety lock ensures that this blade remains securely closed when not in use.

Reversible Clip
The Leek handles are drilled for both tip-up and tip-down clip carry. The clip can be rotated 180º .

Frame Lock
Locks the blade into position after the blade is deployed. To release the frame lock simply press the spring loaded lock and the blade will easily fold back into the handle.

Tip Safety Lock
The tip lock available on many of the Ken Onion SpeedSafe models provides added security to assure that the blade will not deploy while clipped into your pocket.

SpeedSafe from Kershaw Knives revolutionized the knife industry when it was first introduced on the Ken Onion Chive. First off a knife that features SpeedSafe technology is not considered and automatic knife. The correct classification is an “Assisted Opening Knife. There are two variations of SpeedSafe. One being a “Flipper” where the user uses their index finger to deploy the blade, and the other the user uses the thumb stud found on the blade for deployment. Both variations require the user to apply manual pressure to overcome the resistance of the torsion bar. This is why a SpeedSafe does not meet the definition of being classified as a switchblade. A SpeedSafe will not deploy with the push of a button or by gravity alone. Once open, the blade locks safely into position until the user releases it. A key advantage of a SpeedSafe knife is that many of the models are ambidextrous, and can be opened just as easy by either a right or left handed person.
