The newest Scallion model 1620 from Kershaw and Ken Onion is just a perfect addition for anyone’s collection. Plus, the Scallion can handle whatever use you put to it, whether in the kitchen or outdoors. The Scallion is all stainless steel construction, so it is entirely stain and rust resistant.

The Scallion is made in the USA with a 420HC stainless steel blade and 410 stainless steel handle for a classic steely look. For your convenience the Scallion comes with a removable pocket clip so you can take the blade where ever you go. Plus, its tip safety lock ensures that the blade remains securely closed when folded down. All stainless steel construction and a limited lifetime warranty means this knife will provide you an eternity of excellent service. When closed the Scallion is 3 1/2 inches long. The knife is about 5 3/4 inches long when fully opened, making this a decent sized pocket knife.

Frame Lock
Locks the blade into position after the blade is deployed. To release the frame lock simply press the spring loaded lock and the blade will easily fold back into the handle.

Tip Safety Lock
The tip lock available on many of the Ken Onion SpeedSafe models provides added security to assure that the blade will not deploy while clipped into your pocket.

SpeedSafe® is the patented, assisted opening mechanism pioneered by Kershaw that makes it fast and easy to open a knife one-handed. SpeedSafe also makes it possible for Kershaw to ensure that even a large blade can move out of the handle just as smoothly and easily as a smaller one. Plus, many of their assisted folders are ambidextrous—and open with a flipper or a thumbstud on both sides of the blade—so they’re just as easy to use left-handed or right. To open a SpeedSafe knife, the user must apply manual pressure to overcome the resistance of the torsion bar. This means that SpeedSafe knives do not meet the definition of a switchblade; they do not deploy with the push of a button or by gravity alone. Once open, the blade locks safely into position until the user releases it.

For years I carried a similar size knife made by Fred Carter. Then one day I lost it and let me tell you I was one sad pup, it was the same as losing a part of me.

One day I ran across the Kershaw display in a local store and it caught my interest, I thought about it for about 3 months
(No knife) then I bit the bullet and purchased it. This has become the finest pocket knife that I have ever owned.

It has become part of me. I use it probably fifteen-twenty times a day. I even bought another one just like it and sent it to my Grandson in Arizona who wrote back and his first sentence was "Damn, Grandpa that is the best knife I have ever owned"
There just isn't anything else left to say except:"Sorry Fred Carter but Kershaw out did you!"

The Kershaw Scallion (Stainless Steel-Plain Edge) Knife Is made with what I think is the best materials a knife can be made of & the craftsmanship seem to be tops in my opinion. The assisted opening is awesome & makes for quick opening when you need it. It also has two ways to open it so you have your choice of how you want to open it. There is no play in the blade at all. I love both the locks on the knife for keeping the blade open & closed. This is just the rite size for me. (Not to big & not to small.) It fits nicely in my pants pocket so I can take it everywhere & knot notice it is there. It seem to be made so good I think it is going to outlast me. I was brought up in a hunting family & I have always had a knife on me. I thought I have had some good knives in the past till I purchased this one. I paid a bit more than I usually would have in the past for a pocket knife but the quality & features are killer. Do your self a big favor & at least try one. I love Kershaw knives!
