1570ST - Avalanche from Kershaw and Ken Onion, Black G-10 Handle, Black Partially Serrated Edge Blade 

This Avalanche from Kershaw and Ken Onion has a partially serrated blade for extra utility. Now you can slice and saw with this knife while outdoors are just working in the kitchen. The Avalanche is lightweight and surprisingly durable 3.5 ounces. The knife blade comes in at about 7 inches when fully opened.

Its changeable clip is a great feature too. The Avalanche handle is drilled for tip-up or tip down carrying so you can have the knife in a position that’s easy for you to get at quickly.

The SpeedSafe assisted opening system is built into the Avalanche and will help you open the knife safely with ease. Just press the thumb stud on the blade to slide it open. A Locking Liner will keep the knife blade securely in place after it’s fully deployed. All you need to do to release the blade is simply press down on the spring loaded lock to release.

Locking Liner
Locks the blade into position after the blade is deployed. To release the locking liner simply press the spring loaded lock and the blade will easily fold back into the handle.

The Knife Features:
SpeedSafe®, the patented, assisted-opening system built into many of Kershaw's best-selling Ken Onion knives. SpeedSafe assists the user to smoothly open the knife with a manual push on the blade's thumb stud.
 
The heart of the SpeedSafe system is its torsion bar. Closed, the torsion bar helps keep the knife closed, preventing it from being opened by "gravity." In order to open the knife, the user must apply manual pressure to the thumb stud to overcome the resistance of the torsion bar. After the blade is out of the handle, the torsion bar moves along its halfmoon track and takes over. The blade opens smoothly and locks into position, ready for use.
