The Kershaw Chive Knife comes with a black and gold handle for that classic look. Yes, those are gold accents and a gold pocket clip on the handle of this very popular knife by Kershaw and Ken Onion. You can open the knife with either hand using the ambidextrous index opening system. Yet, also be certain that it will stay in place with the frame lock. The frame lock will lock the 420HC steel blade in place when opened and is easy to release. All you need is to simply press the spring loaded lock and fold the blade back into place. Easy and simple, so no need to wrestle with the locking system.

Chive blades are uniquely shaped for easily cutting meat while also containing a sharp point for piercing aluminum cans, use as a make shift awl and many other practical tasks. You�ll never want to part with this particular knife.

Frame Lock
Locks the blade into position after the blade is deployed. To release the frame lock simply press the spring loaded lock and the blade will easily fold back into the handle.

Tip Safety Lock
The tip lock available on many of the Ken Onion SpeedSafe models provides added security to assure that the blade will not deploy while clipped into your pocket.

The Knife Features:

SpeedSafe�, the patented, assisted-opening system built into many of Kershaw's best-selling Ken Onion knives. SpeedSafe assists the user to smoothly open the knife with a manual push on the blade's thumb stud or Index- Open system. (Index-Open uses a protruding portion of the blade's finger guard to give the user an alternative to the thumb stud. The user manually pulls back on the protrusion with the index finger to open the blade.)

The heart of the SpeedSafe system is its torsion bar. Closed, the torsion bar helps keep the knife closed, preventing it from being opened by "gravity." In order to open the knife, the user must apply manual pressure to the thumb stud to overcome the resistance of the torsion bar. After the blade is out of the handle, the torsion bar moves along its halfmoon track and takes over. The blade opens smoothly and locks into position, ready for use.
