1070C - Echo Knife from Kershaw, Camouflaged Handle, Plain Edge Blade

You may be hearing things when you start using the Kershaw Echo designed. Those things might be phrases like, ‘Wow, what a great feel’ and ‘love this knife’ repeated over and over far into the distance. Of course you’ll probably be the one who is muttering to yourself, but these mutterings will all be great things about this knife.

The Echo is an ergonomically designed knife based on the natural shape of the hand when wrapped around an object. The ‘handprint’ design should make this a much more comfortable knife to work with and also a more efficient knife since you won’t be struggling with getting a good grip.

It is not a folding knife. The Echo blade is made from 8CR13MoV stainless steel with a full tang. The handle is made from RealTree Hardwoods HD Polyimide with a natural camouflage print. It also comes with a RealTree nylon sheath for storage when not being used.

The Knife Features:

8CR13MOV Stainless Steel - Many knife enthusiasts will have heard that 8CR13MoV stainless is the equivalent of AUS8A. And it’s true. For everyday use, even a serious knife enthusiast would be hard-pressed to tell the difference between a well-made 8CR13MoV blade and a well-made AUS8A blade. Yet there are slight differences in the steel formula. While most other components are relatively equal, 8CR13MoV has slightly more carbon for hardness and wear resistance and slightly less nickel.

The key to blade performance for both of these steels is manufacturing quality. That’s where Kershaw’s expertise comes in. Kershaw precision heat-treats 8CR13MoV steel to bring out its best high-performance characteristics—the ability to take and hold an edge, strength, and hardness. 8CR13MoV is top-of the-line Chinese steel and, we believe along with Kershaw, offers our customers an excellent value.
