A knife never seemed so sweet. The Oso Sweet 1830 from Kershaw is a pocket knife designed to cut through most anything with ease. You’ll have to get this one for your collection or the kitchen where you can easily whip up delicious dishes.

The Oso Sweet 1830 blade is made from AUS6A stainless steel for stain and rust resistance. Its handle is injection molded glass filled nylon in a scales pattern for a comfortable and secure grip when in use. There is even a locking liner made from 410 stainless steel to protect the blade and the handle, as well as securely locking the blade into position when closed.

The Oso Sweet 1830 comes with a the Kershaw patented SpeedSafe assisted ambidextrous index finger opener, so quickly open the knife blade when you need it.

The Knife Features:

SpeedSafe®, the patented, assisted-opening system built into many of Kershaw's best-selling Ken Onion knives. SpeedSafe assists the user to smoothly open the knife with a manual push on the blade's thumb stud or Index- Open system. (Index-Open uses a protruding portion of the blade's finger guard to give the user an alternative to the thumb stud. The user manually pulls back on the protrusion with the index finger to open the blade.)

The heart of the SpeedSafe system is its torsion bar. Closed, the torsion bar helps keep the knife closed, preventing it from being opened by "gravity." In order to open the knife, the user must apply manual pressure to the thumb stud to overcome the resistance of the torsion bar. After the blade is out of the handle, the torsion bar moves along its halfmoon track and takes over. The blade opens smoothly and locks into position, ready for use.

made in china April 30, 2008

It still seems to be up to Kershaw's standards. I was sorry to see that it was made in China. I guess I missed that when I ordered it. Could have sworn it was made in the USA the first time I looked. My mistake.
