The Scallion from Kershaw and Ken Onion is an entirely colorful knife to have on hand. The decorative red handle of this Scallion knife makes it easy to spot during an emergency. Plus you can always keep it at hand with the convenient pocket clip.

This Scallion's blade is made from 420HC stainless steel. It is a sharp, durable and rust resistant blade that won't fail you in difficult situations. The decorative red handle is 6061-T6 anodized-aluminum, helping to make this knife very light weight at only 2.3 ounces.

If you are looking for safety the Scallion features the Tip Safety Lock to keep the blade folded down in place when the knife is closed. This way it won't pop open in your pocket clip. Ouch! The SpeedSafe assisted opening system makes for easy ambidextrous one handed opening of the blade. Lastly, a Locking Liner locks the blade into place when fully opened. It's also easy to release the liner with the press on a spring loaded lock.

Locking Liner
Locks the blade into position after the blade is deployed. To release the locking liner simply press the spring loaded lock and the blade will easily fold back into the handle.

Tip Safety Lock
The tip lock available on many of the Ken Onion SpeedSafe models provides added security to assure that the blade will not deploy while clipped into your pocket.

The Knife Features:

SpeedSafe�, the patented, assisted-opening system built into many of Kershaw's best-selling Ken Onion knives. SpeedSafe assists the user to smoothly open the knife with a manual push on the blade's thumb stud or Index- Open system. (Index-Open uses a protruding portion of the blade's finger guard to give the user an alternative to the thumb stud. The user manually pulls back on the protrusion with the index finger to open the blade.)

The heart of the SpeedSafe system is its torsion bar. Closed, the torsion bar helps keep the knife closed, preventing it from being opened by "gravity." In order to open the knife, the user must apply manual pressure to the thumb stud to overcome the resistance of the torsion bar. After the blade is out of the handle, the torsion bar moves along its halfmoon track and takes over. The blade opens smoothly and locks into position, ready for use.
