Black ops, here we come. You�ll be living in your very own action adventure movie with the Black Shallot 1840 from Kershaw and Ken Onion. This knife is not only as dark as night, it slices through it like butter.

The Black Shallot gets its distinctive look from the Tungsten DLC coating over its all stainless steel construction. The coating helps protect the knife, making it stronger and more resistant to wear and tear. Underneath this coating you�ll find a Sandvik 13C26 stainless steel blade and a 410 stainless steel handle. Both rust and stain resistant, the Black Shallot is a pleasure to keep in the kitchen or on outdoor trips.

The Shallot comes with a reversible/removable pocket clip for tip up or down carrying. It also features the patented SpeedSafe assisted index finger opening system. This system is ambidextrous so righties and lefties open the knife with ease. This knife comes with a limited lifetime warranty. Made in the USA.

Frame Lock
Locks the blade into position after the blade is deployed. To release the frame lock simply press the spring loaded lock and the blade will easily fold back into the handle.

The Knife Features:

SpeedSafe�, the patented, assisted-opening system built into many of Kershaw's best-selling Ken Onion knives. SpeedSafe assists the user to smoothly open the knife with a manual push using the Index-Open system. (Index-Open uses a protruding portion of the blade's finger guard. The user manually pulls back on the protrusion with the index finger to open the blade.)

The heart of the SpeedSafe system is its torsion bar. Closed, the torsion bar helps keep the knife closed, preventing it from being opened by "gravity." In order to open the knife, the user must apply manual pressure on the Index-Opening system to overcome the resistance of the torsion bar. After the blade is out of the handle, the torsion bar moves along its halfmoon track and takes over. The blade opens smoothly and locks into position, ready for use.
