Description

1670TBLKST - Tanto Blur from Kershaw and Ken Onion, Black Aluminum Handle w/Trac-Tec Insert, Black Partially Serrated Edge Blade

The Tanto Blur from Kershaw and Ken Onion is a slight variation on the Blur knife. This blade has increased usability in unique or emergency situations. Plus you'll love having the partially serrated edge to use for sawing through materials or scraping.

The knife blade is made from Sandvik 14C28N stainless-steel with a Tungsten DLC Coating to make it very strong and long-lasting. The handle is 6061-T6 anodized aluminum with Trac-Tec inserts and a 410 stainless steel liner. You'll be able to use this knife effectively in an emergency and keep a secure grip on the handle in wet or slippery conditions.

It's also a convenient knife with a changeable pocket clip. The Tanto Blur handle is drilled for left and right hand clip carry. A Locking Liner locks the blade into position after it's been fully deployed. Plus the SpeedSafe patented assisted opening system makes for easy ambidextrous opening of the Blur.

Changeable Clip
The Blurs handles are drilled for both left and right hand clip carry.

Locking Liner
Locks the blade into position after the blade is deployed. To release the locking liner simply press the spring loaded lock and the blade will easily fold back into the handle.

SpeedSafeŽ, the patented, assisted-opening system built into many of Kershaw's best-selling Ken Onion knives. SpeedSafe assists the user to smoothly open the knife with a manual push on the blade's thumb stud.

The heart of the SpeedSafe system is its torsion bar. Closed, the torsion bar helps keep the knife closed, preventing it from being opened by "gravity." In order to open the knife, the user must apply manual pressure to the thumb stud to overcome the resistance of the torsion bar. After the blade is out of the handle, the torsion bar moves along its halfmoon track and takes over. The blade opens smoothly and locks into position, ready for use.

Exceptional Knife April 18, 2010
Reviewer: RMF from Danbury, CT United States
Kershaw's Blur Tanto has got to the best all-round knife for whatever its called upon to do. This knife handles whatever tasks are presented. The blade deploys quickly and locks up as firmly as a Kershaw's lock-back knives. The serrations, plain, and tanto profiles enable one to use it for many varied tasks. And the Trac-Tec inserts provide a platform for a firm grip, even when wet. Kudos to Kershaw.

One of the best knifes I've ever owned March 10, 2010
Reviewer: John C. from Avon, IL United States
One of the best knifes I have ever owned! First kershaw I have ever purchased. I have handled them before so I had to purchase one for myself and I must say best knife for the price. The only other tanto I own is the cold steel master tanto. Both highly exceptional knifes in my book. Overall the feel, sharpness, ease of opening, and craftmanship of this tanto is the best I've seen in a long time keep it up kershaw!

Excellent Addition February 21, 2009
Reviewer: George  from Cocoa, FL United States
I have been carrying, collecting, and using knives for a number of years now and after reading the reviews for this knife, I just had to go and see it for myself.  When I looked at it and handled it the first time, it was love at first sight.  Where has this knife been all of my life?  The grip is marvelous and fits perfectly in your fist.  The total black tone of the knife adds to its mystique and it is surprisingly lightweight for its heft and size.

As mentioned in other reviews, it opens quickly and locks into place securely.  It gives you an immediate feeling of security that this is a no nonsense tool ready and willing to be used.  It has quickly become my favorite for weekend and evening carrying.  I have to carry something much smaller during the weekdays since I work in a public setting.

This Knife ROCKS ! November 10, 2008
Reviewer: Tank from fishkill, NY United States
There are many reasons I love this knife. It's quality is superior. When opened, the blade locks with absolutely no wiggle/play. The action is as smooth as silk and the blade flies open with the slightest pressure on the thumb stud and the tungsten coating will not reflect light making it stealthy at night. On top of that I would describe it as strikingly handsome. By far the best knife I've ever owned!
