When it comes to folding knives, some knife users think there can be nothing new under the sun. Others just quietly take out their ZT 0500.

What’s different? For one thing, designers Grant and Gavin Hawk have given the 0500 an oversized 5/16-inch pivot shaft for strength over and above the call of duty. For another, the pivot and the Hawk Lock are protected by polyurethane seals that keep out mud, sand, fine dust and moisture and ensure a smooth flawless blade deployment each and every time. The polyurethane seals are resistant to petroleum products and withstand a full range of temperatures without deforming or deteriorating. This is a knife that’s built to perform under just about any circumstances and in just about any environment.

The blade is built of 154CM stainless steel with non-reflective Tungsten DLC coating. This rugged stainless steel features a very high carbon content for increased hardness, wear resistance and edge retention— durability that is further enhanced by the Tungsten DLC coating. The handle is machined 7075 anodized aluminum with textured G-10 scales for superior grip and durability.

The proven Hawk lock offers a solid and dependable lock up and can be released using your thumb for right hand use or index finger for left-handers. Oversized blade-opening lugs give you total control over blade deployment, even while wearing combat gloves. There’s also a reversible pocket clip for left or right-handed carry.
